Cable Barrier

C & H Construction specializes in median cable barrier systems; a safe, attractive, low-cost alternative to the W-beam guardrail.

 

Median cable barriers are made of three or four steel cables strung on posts. When a car hits the barrier, the posts break and the cables flex, diffusing some of the crash impact felt by vehicle occupants and redirecting the vehicle along the median instead of across it.   

 

They are typically installed in highway sections that include entrance and exit ramps that result in merging traffic, traffic weaving or a change in the number of lanes.

 

The system requires less repair and maintenance than traditional guardrail. If a vehicle hits the cable barrier, the damaged section can be repaired quickly.
